2023 WORKSHOP: Teaching EAL/D through the Arts

A special thank you to the NGV for hosting us, VicTESOL & everyone who joined us at our EAL/D through the Arts Professional Development Day.

We all had a fantastic day and hope you are all feeling confident & inspired now to use the many techniques & ideas with your students!

Friday March 17 at the NGV.

Urban Lyrebirds have run numerous workshops including:

Western Region Language Centre (Melbourne), CIT (Canberra), Melbourne University, Latrobe University, Victoria University, Charles Darwin University - Darwin, ECTA – Early Childhood Teachers Association, (TESOL graduates), QATESOL, TASTESOL, VICTESOL, VALBEC & CAMTESOL (Cambodia).

They focus on developing all language skills using song, role play and communicative activities, with a particular focus on:
- Using song to teach language
- Your voice is the key - Pronunciation exercises for speaking
